I’ve decided to participate in BlogHer’s NaBloPoMo, a challenge to blog daily for the month of December. Today’s theme is work.
Those of us with Multiple Scleroris understand the meaning of work. Every day, we have to work more to do what’s easy for most people. Some of us are able to work despite our condition, while others have had to give up meaningful careers that are no longer possible.
I’ll start this month with an inspiring quote from public radio personality Ira Glass:
“For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. A lot of people never get past this phase; they quit. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know it’s normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions.”
My wish is for everyone to be as good as their ambitions, and that those ambitions are high.
